Since the Southdale Celebration of Care event began in 2018, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised to support important projects at the hospital. These projects include improvements to The Birthplace, Southdale Hospital’s renowned pregnancy and birth wing, and the creation of the state-of-the-art EmPATH unit which offers patients a comforting space while care teams work to address their mental health needs.

M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital opened in Edina in 1965 and today is known for award-winning heart, stroke, and cancer care. Southdale Hospital offers convenient access to more than 40 specialty services including cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, obstetrics, primary care, neurosciences, critical care, vascular, and emergency services.

The partnership between the University of Minnesota, University of Minnesota Physicians and Fairview Health Services combines the University’s deep history of clinical innovation and training with Fairview’s extensive roots in community medicine. This means community members will always have access to the latest techniques and advances in medicine — when and where they need them.
